Finding Your Voice Again after Postpartum Depression

Finding Your Voice Again

After I had my baby, I remember looking in the mirror and feeling like a stranger was staring back at me. My body had changed. My routines were upside down. And even though there was this tiny, beautiful human in my arms, I couldn’t quite hear my own voice anymore.

I wasn’t just tired—I was quiet in a way I didn’t expect. As if the version of me that had dreams, goals, opinions, and plans had gone into hiding.

Rediscovering “Me”

Some people think that when you become a mother, you automatically feel this wave of fulfillment. And yes, it can be incredibly meaningful and beautiful. But it can also feel disorienting. I wanted to be a present mother and still hold space for the woman I was before.

What helped me start finding my voice again wasn’t some big transformation. It was small, intentional moments.

Like journaling while my baby napped.
Like writing down ideas that stirred something in me.
Like giving myself permission to want more without guilt.

Your Voice Matters, Even Now

If you’re in that foggy space where you’re unsure who you are anymore, please know—your voice is still there. It might be whispering. It might be tired. But it’s not gone.

Start small. Write something. Speak something. Dream something, even if it feels far away. You don’t need anyone’s permission to reconnect with yourself.

You are still creative. You are still powerful. You are still you.
